Hallo, wie die meisten von Euch werden es inzwischen über die
internationale News Group erfahren haben. Es wird ein Buch über die
Geschichte des Contenders geschrieben. David trug nun folgende Bitte an
mich heran die ich hiermit anEuch alle weiterleite.

I expect that you will have seen on the Contender forum that the idea of recording the Contender's history is now a reality, writing the book is now a 'current' activity. As far as I know we are the first fully International Class to undertake such a task, the difficulty of course is to capture what has happened in many countries.
I have already written to Joachim and I hope he will be able to provide me with some information, not only as a Champion sailor but as a boat builder, talking about the technical issues of making a 'fast' Contender.
Jan is also helping me out - can you speak to the Class in germany and help me to get some detail so I can write an accurate description.
Do you have the 1,2 and 3 for the past German National Championships?

pictures, stories, memories, 'personalities'...special moments ( I know of
at least 2 possible Champions who are not because their masts fell down on
the last race!)
Timescales - I want to be really starting the main writing by the end of
this month, early February at the latest
